For our favourite project Breckland Council approached us with an ambitious plan – to create a film that tells the story of the collaborations they partake in with the local community.
Breckland Council were looking to cast themselves in a new light through video and chose Reverb to do it.
Breckland Council asked us to provide two unique stories, one of a Ukrainian refugee family and the other for people who are no longer sleeping rough, due to the council’s efforts.
We shot interviews with both parties and tied them together with dialogue from the council team responsible for the projects. Showing direct, personal involvement from the team, moves them away from being The Council and towards a community.
Although this was originally one larger video, we produced additional cuts of the two stories to maximise their potential on social media.
From concept to final cut, we bring your vision to life
The process was seamless. We conducted interviews with 10 individuals who had benefitted from the council’s work, getting incredible soundbites and emotive stories directly from those who have been helped.
The interviews were then intercut with shots of the home they provided for the refugee family, the school-turned-housing development they operate for those sleeping rough, and the offices they work in, to showcase their culture.
Our approach to interviewing is more laid back, we’d rather have a conversation than just throw questions at someone. The results are night and day, genuine emotion to help engage an audience.
Breckland have since posted the videos, initially as a joint effort with a 4 minute supercut of both stories, as two 2-minute segments and for internal use with an extended 6 minute cut including info on the process, to be shared with other councils.
Our projects with Breckland Council are posted regularly by the main council socials as well as the team involved, helping them showcase their individual efforts too. Another win for Reverb.
Breckland Council connected with one of our projects so much they rented out a cinema screen to show it off during a peer review. Brownie points in the bag.
