Archant (EDP, Pink Un, Norwich Evening News) came to us with the ambition of capturing the magic of Norwich City’s 2020/21 Championship-winning season, in the form of a video time capsule.

To date, our video’s Twitter views alone sit at over 110,000 on the PinkUn’s page.

Archant and Reverb.

What We Did.

Archant had commissioned Joe Webb to write a poem to commemorate the occassion. This was then read by Norfolk royalty Steven Fry, providing the narration we would then create the video around.

We familiarised ourselves with the poem before setting our for Carrow Road to get cinematic shots of the ground to serve as the majority of the video’s content.

We were then given permission from the EFL to use footage from Norwich City’s coverage from the season to show goals and title celebrations.

We chose to keep the Steven Fry video feature until the very end, to really emphasise the dramatic final line.

Archant ended up with a love-letter to Norwich City FC in video form. A time-capsule to be remembered as a callback to one of the finest seasons in recent history.

A 2-and-a-half-minute video with over 100,000 views now sits on their socials and YouTube page for anyone to look back on.

One edit was all that needed to get a video, produced specifically to work on all social platforms without hassle, ready for Archant to distribute as part of a livestreamed documentary, then immortalised on social media.

The Video.

What Archant Said.

“We approached Reverb Digital with an ambitious plan to create a unique and creative piece of content to immortalise a season like no other in Norwich City history.

The guys were friendly, receptive with our plan and creative with their brief. They helped construct a piece of content that was warmly received and perfectly encapsulated the season in video form.

Along with a poem read by Stephen Fry, the team at Reverb created an emotive and aesthetically creative video that not only aligned with our initial plan but helped push it even further.”
